Thinking built for the long run
We help you find the question, ground the answer, and see it through.
On Paradox
Every human carries contradictions: the drive to control and the need to let go, the hunger for growth and the longing for stability, confidence on the outside and doubt underneath.
Most coaching treats these as problems to solve. We treat them as the most honest material a person brings.
Our sessions look for the paradox at work in a person, a team, or an organization, sometimes naming it, often simply making space for both sides to be true at once. That is usually where the real movement starts, because a contradiction held openly stops draining energy and starts generating it.
Contradiction we welcome. Impasse we don't.
As Carl Jung put it, "Only the paradox comes anywhere near to comprehending the fullness of life."
our ApproachWe enable momentum toward lasting change.
Coaching
Change arrives for everyone: the executive after the strategic plan is approved, the founder with an idea that needs shape, the student or professional at the edge of a new chapter. As International Coaching Federation-trained coaches, we meet you at those inflection points and work until you have three things in hand: clarity on what's really going on, a plan built for how you actually work, and the momentum to move it. The goal isn't a coach for life. It's a way of thinking you keep long after our work together ends.
Research
Good decisions deserve good evidence. Bring us your open questions, your hunches, and the gap between what you know and what you need to know: the market you're weighing, the program you're comparing, the field you're thinking of entering. We'll map the landscape, pressure-test the assumptions, and come back with options you can weigh and defend, whether that's to a board, a funder, your family, or yourself at 2 a.m. You get answers you can act on now and a sharper set of questions for what comes next, from people who genuinely love the digging.
Advisory
Then we stay for the hard part. Most plans stall in the handoff between vision and execution, so we work alongside you through the middle miles: sequencing the steps, building the partnerships, raising the funds, adjusting when reality votes. You can expect real movement you can point to, and progress that runs on what we build together: your capacity, your systems, your momentum.
Why Long HorizonLasting change happens when insight meets follow-through.
That's why we combine coaching, research, and advisory work: to help you move from knowing what needs to change to actually changing it. The horizon in our name is where we measure success: change that holds up over time. Whether you're an individual navigating a transition or a team building something meant to last, we'll partner with you to explore what's under the surface, identify your next steps, and build momentum toward your goals.
Our Team
Tom Thorpe
Tom is an executive and change management coach who supports leaders at inflection points. Whether it's the work that begins after a strategic plan is approved, a review is delivered, or a new hire walks in the door, Tom helps executives, founders, and leadership teams find the root cause, name the why, and build a plan that actually moves.
His approach combines storytelling with human centered design and an iterative, test-and-learn method: leaders form hypotheses about their teams and try them in practice, so results become discoveries, not verdicts. He honed this craft over twenty-six years building, leading, and scaling mission-driven programs, including co-founding and directing the REDI Lab at Colorado Academy, where he raised more than $1.35 million and led a capital campaign. Paired with rigorous ICF coaching training and a leadership stance of absorbing risk and giving credit, this work helps leaders see their biggest challenges differently.
A session with Tom is equal parts "hold it lightly" and "move it now."
Evan Doherty
Evan coaches people who are building something new and seeking to understand themselves better along the way. Whether it's someone navigating a new role, a leader working to get their team on the same page, or anyone moving an ambitious idea forward, Evan helps clients process how they feel, figure out what they need, then build a plan grounded in how they work best.
Her coaching approach combines her entrepreneurial spirit with a background in cognitive science. She has honed her builder’s mindset across early-stage startup roles in project management, marketing, and account management, where she has turned ambitious goals into concrete next steps — a skill that translates directly to helping clients navigate their own uncertain in-between moments. Paired with her knowledge about how the brain works, rigorous ICF coaching training, and empathetic nature, her action-oriented approach enables clients to tackle their next steps with confidence.
A session with Evan is equal parts “how do you feel?” and “let’s make a plan.”
